Our Software Engineers work in all parts of the software development lifecycle. Reporting to the Lead Software Engineer, the post-holder will be responsible for designing and building software to gather and analyze data from our analytical instruments. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, they will help solve software related problems and related systems engineering issues, as well as providing up-to-date knowledge of new software innovations and their potential application to the wider organization. Our development processes are lean and focus on delivering products to the market fast, and according to the real needs of our customers. Your role is critical in keeping us aligned with one of our core values: to be courageously innovative! Your field of activity includes the development of laboratory devices for the life science industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To be responsible for designing and building software to gather and analyse data from our range of analytical instruments.
• To ensure that the software written adheres to the current codes of practice, software procedures and project life cycle methodologies.
• To solve product problems as they relate to software and related systems engineering issues.
• To work within the software team using agile methods, participating in sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• To acquire, maintain and disseminate knowledge of new software innovations and their potential application
• Science graduate (in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or related subjects) with significant software content or equivalent experience gained in a software development environment.
• Have at least 2+ years’ experience (backend or frontend) in a software development environment
• Be experienced in Windows programming in C# .Net and WPF.
• Have experience of several of the following:
o Agile methodologies, especially Scrum
o Unit Testing
o Microsoft Team Foundation service (TFS)
o ISO9001
o WebAPI, Entity framework
o Databases
o RESTful
o High Performance Computing
o C/C++
o CI/CD with Github
o F#
o Docker
o Cloud AWS, Azure, Google Computing or similar platforms
o JavaScript
o HTML5
o CSS
o Angular or React or similar frameworks
o Proven skills in user Experience (UX) design
o AI or Data Science experience (at least academic)
o R, Python or Julia
o TensorFlow
o Solid Skills in Statistics
o Solid Skills in Numerical Modeling
• Possess excellent team-working and communication skills, with the ability to work both within a team and under own initiative.
