Atividades e Responsabilidades

We are seeking an AI Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development, who thrives on solving complex problems and building products end-to-end. This role is ideal for an engineer who goes beyond traditional development boundaries — someone who can take ownership of ambiguous ideas, rapidly turn them into working solutions, and continuously iterate using modern tools, including AI.

*The position is available in Brazil and offers a fully remote job.

Product

Customer: Global startup based in the USA

Type: healthcare

Product: A hybrid healthcare platform for preventive cancer screening. The solution includes a B2C patient portal where users can schedule screenings and access their medical records, as well as a B2B provider portal for doctors and healthcare professionals.

Doctors work with patients through the provider portal using tools like SOAP notes, chronological records, and lab results. The system also includes a manager role with limited permissions compared to doctors.

Stage: Active development

Project team: 6 people: 3 Senior Full-stack developers, 1 Junior Full-stack developer, 1 Junior QA, 1 Middle PM

Work Schedule: Full-time remote working day with flexible hours

Requisitos

Requirements:

Must have
- 5+ years of experience solving complex problems in software
- Strong full-stack skills (React, Node.js, JavaScript; MongoDB or PostgreSQL)
- Proven ability to build and ship things on your own
- Deep experience using AI tools in development (not just occasionally)
- Ability to move fast, iterate quickly, and still maintain quality
- Strong debugging skills across different layers of the stack
- English: Intermediate+

Will be a plus:
- Python experience
- Healthcare domain experience

Responsibilities:
- Use AI to build things that would normally take a teamPrompt your way to a working prototype, then know exactly what's wrong with it
- Ship features solo end-to-end using whatever tools get it done fastest
- Debug AI-generated code without losing the thread
- Know when to trust the output and when to throw it away
- Turn a vague idea into a working product in a weekend
- Add features or fix bugs live on a call while explaining what you're doing
- Maintain and extend projects you vibe coded 6 months ago
- Recognise the ceiling of AI tooling and take over manually when you hit it
- Build things in your spare time for no reason other than to see if you can
