What you will work on
Design, develop, test, and maintain modern full-stack, web-focused software (e.g. React, TypeScript, etc.)
Build dependable integrations between the platform and EHR/EMR systems and other external healthcare services, keeping data exchange accurate, secure, and reliable
Work with APIs and third-party systems to support data synchronization, authentication, error handling, and integration monitoring
Troubleshoot complex application and integration problems across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, and supporting infrastructure
Shape the design and evolution of application infrastructure through Infrastructure-as-Code practices (e.g. Terraform, etc.) to keep environments consistent and repeatable
Spot opportunities for code optimization and technical debt reduction, prioritizing scalability, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability
Recommend technologies and technical approaches aligned with product features, customer use cases, and the overall architecture
Create and maintain automated tests, advocating for TDD and solid engineering practices throughout the development lifecycle
Partner with Product Management and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet customer needs while staying secure, performant, and scalable
Support other members of the engineering team through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing
Encourage effective Agile/Scrum practices drawn from previous experience
Must-haves
5+ years of software development experience
Strong experience building and maintaining modern web applications
Proficiency with React
Proficiency with TypeScript
Experience with Git and PostgreSQL
Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools for managing and provisioning cloud/application infrastructure
Experience integrating software applications with EHR/EMR systems, healthcare data platforms, or third-party clinical APIs
Experience designing and maintaining API integrations, including working with external systems, authentication, data mapping, and error handling
Expertise in test-driven development (TDD), unit testing, and automated testing frameworks
Strong understanding of application security, scalability, reliability, and performance
Proficiency with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English
Nice-to-haves
Startup experience
Experience integrating with healthcare platforms, EHR/EMR vendors, or clinical systems
Familiarity with healthcare data exchange standards (e.g. HL7, FHIR, etc.)
Experience with cloud infrastructure and additional DevOps or Infrastructure-as-Code tooling
Experience with modern AI tools and frameworks in production environments
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
